Yoga Montclair is here to be the radical affirmation of “Yes” in your life. We are a community of individuals seeking to learn more about their bodies, minds & hearts through the practice of Yoga. Our method is grounded in an elegant set of *alignment principles & divinely lit by our heart-orientated and uplifting philosophy. Our promise, as the only alignment focused center, to each student is to reflect your own intrinsic goodness & guide you towards the blissful, playful & simple pulsation of your breath. Our certified Morristown yoga instructors are committed to the growth and evolution of our students and community. Everyone is welcome, please stay as long as the conversation intrigues you.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect to feel good! First, listen to yourself and respect your own limits as you begin or deepen your Yoga practice. All of our Morristown yoga classes are designed for you to have an experience of opening; through flowing movements & various stretching sequences. All of our Morristown yoga classes are led by certified instructors that are highly trained & here, specifically, to help you feel better in your body. The teacher begins each class with a centering, followed by an hour and fifteen minutes of asana and closed with a meditative rest. You may feel lost at times, which is normal. Simply pause, open your heart and listen to the words of your teacher and the movement will come. Welcome.
Basic: We suggest this class to anyone who is NEW to our studio. No matter how many years your practice, we invite you to start off at this Basic level to get a general idea of the Basics of YM. Ideally for those who want to learn the basic forms and build a strong foundation for your Yoga practice. Everyone is welcome in this steady paced, level one class.
Open Level: Everyone is welcome in this multi-level class. Centered around the students who are in each class, our instructor will give you a challenge and help you to rise to your capacity. Introduction to Full Handstand and Backbends will begin. Bring an open heart, a willingness to try and listen to yourself and your respective limits.
Intermediate: With a strong foundation, this class pushes our limits and begins to introduce more arm balances, playful inversions and fuller back-bends. This class is for the dedicated Yogi who is practicing at least 2 times a week.
TGIF Yoga: Release the stress of the work week and begin the weekend by opening up your body, getting clear and focused. This is fun open level class that everyone is encouraged to join.
Restorative Yoga (once a month): This class is made up of 7-10 restorative poses, held for longer periods of time. Props will hold you up in deeply rejuvenating postures, leaving you feeling renewed and clear in your body, mind + heart. This class is perfect for beginners and those who are a bit scared to try yoga. Everyone loves it AND needs it.
Pre-Natal: This is for mamas to be, or mamas to be again :) When you are pregnant, a yoga practice grounds your physical body and supports it as it is growing and expanding. It is also a sweet and special time to build connection with your bundle of joy within your body. Give yourself a gift and take time to really enjoy this journey into motherhood.
